Ghandi R started playing drums and percussions at the age of 15 in a DIY drum kit , his love for drumming started when he first heard the amazing drum sound of Lars Ulrich in the black album , at the age of 18 he finally bought his first drum kit , and was practicing in the attic to jimi Hendrix , Led Zeppelin and metallica's songs, known for his natural bass drum speed technique even at that young age.He formed his first band : Dehliz, and composed 2 of the 4 demo songs along with bassist Zoubir S, he was the first to incorporate Latin percussions and jazzhi-hat techniques to death metal, the result was bizarre and fresh at the same time, Dehliz songs were a mix of Death metal , Jazz & Latin percussions.
In the Macra Heavy metal days, he mastered the double bass drum , by adding a new drum kit to his old kit and making a 8 pieces kit, he was the first in 1999 to play a double bass drum kit on stage in Annaba, He moved to the SF bay area and still practicing and searching for more challenges , he attended the Berkeley jazz school and jammed with several musicians in the Bay area.
His favorite drummers are : John Bonham ,Mitch Mitchell, Max Roach, Neil Peart , Dave Lombardo, Mike mangini, Lars ulrich.
